We went Udaipur for the first time during March, 2019 to celebrate our 10th Marriage Anniversary in Rajupatana Style. Celebration should be done in some special way on this special occasion, so we decided to stay in Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa, near Fateh Sagar Lake. This was my first experience of staying in 5 star hotel and what an unforgettable experience it was to stay in this elegant hotel.
This was our last day at Udaipur, so we were a bit slothful today. We completed our breakfast by 10 am and started our Day 3 Tour by our hired scooty. Our first destination today was Dudh Talai Lake.
We had our sumptuous breakfast by 9 am, after that we reached Jagdish temple where we hired a scooty for 1000/- for whole day. Bikes on rent are easily available just outside the gate of City Palace, near Jagdish Temple. Our first destination was the main attraction of Udaipur that is City Palace. Along with City Palace you can also visit Lake Pichola Boat Ride (Sunset Boat Ride is recommendable), Jagmandir Palace, Crystal Gallery, Vintage & Classic Car Museum. You can get all the tickets from the main gate (Badi Pole) of City Palace or you can get the tickets from the spot also.
Udaipur the most romantic city of Rajasthan for me and many. We went to Udaipur for the first time on March, 2019 and this time I was accompanied by my husband to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We started our journey from Kolkata to Udaipur by flight via Delhi and reached around 3 pm, checked in hotel, quickly freshened up and started our Udaipur tour around 4:00 pm. Udaipur has three major side : Fateh Sagar lake side, Lake Pichola side and Dudh Talai Lake side. I will recommend you to divide your Udaipur sightseeing tour side wise, this will save your time and journey. In this blog, I will be sharing my experience of Fateh Sagar Lake side tour on our first day of Udaipur and we choose to travel by an auto rickshaw. I have also mentioned the time, so that it will be easier for you to plan your tour accordingly.
Udaipur is the most beautiful city of Rajasthan, India, which was the capital of Mewar Kingdom and was founded by Udai Singh II in 1558. Since Chittorgarh was captured by Akbar, Udai Singh shifted his capital from Chittorgarh to Udaipur. Udaipur is located on southern part of Rajasthan, surrounded by beautiful Aravali mountain in all directions, which separate it from Thar desert. Udaipur is also known as the “City of Lakes”. City has major five lakes : Fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, Swaroop Sagar Lake, Rangsagar Lake and Doodh Talai Lake. Udaipur has historical forts, massive palaces, havelis, marvelous architectures, museums, galleries, gardens, temples, traditional shopping center, fair, roopways, rich culture, colorful costumes and turbans, etc. The dynasty family of Mewar Kingdom still exist until now. Current custodian is Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar. He is the chairman of his family business: HRH Group of Hotels. Some of the luxurious hotels belong to this group located in Lake Pichola are Jagmandir Island Palace Hotel, Hotel Shiv Nivas Palace, Hotel Fateh Prakash Palace,etc. The hotel in the middle of the Lake Pichola is Taj Lake Palace Udaipur, which belong to the Taj Group of Hotel, where James Bond’s Octopussy took place.
This was my first solo trip and I was superb excited for this trip as mentioned in my previous blog. There is a different feeling when you travel alone – a sense of independence works, which is quite interesting where everything you have to do alone. I would like to add on that for this journey I arranged everything by myself like booking air tickets, hotel booking, airport transport cab, tour planning, tour cab, etc.

Travel has always been my hobby and traveling solo was a dream that I nurtured since long, a dream that came true on this autumn when I set out for Udaipur on 22nd November, 2019. Having been to Udaipur once before, I had already seen the main sites of the city; so I chose to visit Chittorgarh this time. This being my first solo trip, the excitement was obvious, and the feeling of accomplishment of a long-cherished dream was overwhelming. This was my chance to discover my inner self and I wanted to absorb the experience as much as I could. I am glad that I didn’t disappoint myself in the end.
